The Conrad Hotel, Bali.

Conrad Hotel Review

Picture the scene…

An oversized stylish lounge with an expansive balcony overlooking shimmering waters of the bluest pool you have ever seen, surrounded with modern pool beds and comfy towels.

Surrounding the pool to the left and right is a lagoon, wrapping around the entire circumference of the hotel. Room balconies that open up directly on to the lagoon, giving guests sheer luxury right at their footsteps.

If you extend your view past the pool, past the palm trees, past the private canopies that serve romanic dinners to guests, and past the 5* restaurant serving the freshest seafood your taste buds can handle your eyes will fixate on the waves crashing upon the shore line of the idyllic Southern Coast of the Indian Ocean on the Conrad’s private beach.

The Award Winning Conrad, Bali is the epitome of luxury, set in the most luxurious and idyllic setting you can ever imagine with authentic balinese charm and the right amount of class.

You will believe and surely feel that you have arrived in Hotel Heaven!

I have to say that I have never quite had this level of luxury before. We have stayed in a number of fancy hotels, condos and private villa’s around the world but nothing quite compares to The Conrad.

From the moment we entered the hotel we were immediately made to feel like we were important to all staff members. They were there to serve us in any way possible. Each and every staff member knew our name, how long we were booked in for, and what room we were in, and this was just the beginning!

We were presented with a flavoured water, that actually looked like a cocktail (the alcoholic in me was a little disappointed) but being that it was before midday it was probably a good thing!

We were relieved of our bags, given the grand tour of the hotel by one of the lovely staff members and eventually shown to a members lounge where we could help ourselves to complimentary food, water, internet, showers, play room or business lounge, while we waited.

Once we had stuffed our faces with the delicious pastries, fruit and coffee on offer we wondered around to find our bearings. The hotel was huge!

With guest rooms, deluxe rooms, suits and villa’s to choose from located over three wings of the hotel grounds, it took us a while to navigate our way around. We eventually located the restaurant that overlooked the main pool, grabbed a seat and ordered some lunch.

Don’t forget to check out Ubud, when in Bali.  It’s an amazing day trip from Seminyak or Denpasar . For tips on what to see and do click here.

The Food…

The menu was surprisingly normal for such a luxurious hotel. I was expecting foie gras, fresh oysters, or truffle oil on something! But instead we had a choice of burgers, sandwiches and curries. We went for a cheese burger and a Thai beef salad and it did not disappoint!

It was presented perfectly, cooked to perfection and served by very attentive waiters that literally appeared at our table as soon as we glanced at them.

Sometimes I have to admit this can annoy me. When waiters lurk over your table and constantly ask if you need anything. But this wasn’t the the case in The Conrad Hotel. They almost always appeared when you needed something and somehow seemed invisible when you didn’t!

The Room…

Janice had booked an Executive Suite for us. I didn’t know this until we arrived in our room and I was just blown away by it’s size and beauty. I could have happily lived in it forever!

Equipped with two bathrooms, a dining and living room area, as well as two balconies that opened up onto a pool and lagoon, both that could be accessed directly from our room, I was in complete awe. I have never seen a room like it. It was just fab!

Me enjoying Room Service!

The luxurious amenities didn’t disappoint either! Big snuggly bath robes with matching slippers. Unfortunately for us we got Mr & Mrs bath robes, which totally drowned Jan! I don’t quite think Bali has quite caught on to the whole LGBT movement yet!

But we made do, no complaining from us!

I have to say we did book this room and hotel for a special occasion, or at least Jan did. This is where she purposed to me! Ahhhhh!! I hear you say!

I said I do….

And so she had made arrangements with the hotel to display a “floating” candle lit display of “will you marry me” in the pool, on our first night. It was certainly a spectacle and a wonderful romantic gesture. I said yes of course!

I think this is one of the reasons for us getting the VIP treatment from the all members of staff but I’m sure that each and every guest who spends even one night in the Conrad, Bali would receive fantastic attention.

Our overall experience at the The Conrad Hotel, Bali from start to finish was one we will not forget any time soon. We will most definitely be making another trip back to stay here, and might even stay for a whole week.

While the price of a hotel room in the The Conrad Hotel, Bali is above average for Bali in general, you most definitely get your money’s worth, are made to feel like a queen and will depart deciding straight away to return! It’s that good.

It’s super child friendly, family oriented and has it’s own private beach with water sports included for an extra fee. If you want to get away from it all, and spend a few days relaxing in sheer luxury to a hotel that can offer all and more, then you should definitely book a night at the The Conrad Hotel,Bali.

Whilst I would love to have some affiliates related to this post, unfortunately I do not. This review is simply based on our experience alone and our first impressions of the hotel.

Thinking of getting married?  This could be the place for you.  For more details click here.
